Christmas Party 24th & 25th November

Post by CBM_64 »

The club has arranged the annual Christmas Party for Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th November. It will be at Mount Barney Retreat. It has a covered campfire, a wood heater and hot showers. It also has a kitchen with sink, gas rings, fridge, freezer and a bush oven for roasts or pizzas. You can check out the website here; http://www.mtbarneyretreat.com.au/ Access to the retreat is 4WD only.

As we are expecting a good turn out and our AGM is due we will also have it at some time over the weekend.

Where; Mount Barney Retreat, Waterfall Creek Rd, Maroon, QLD
When; Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th November
Meeting Place; BP 43 High St, Boonah, QLD, 4310
Time; Departure time is 9:30am
Cost; We have booked the whole campground out so depending on how many people attend it should cost approximately $25 per adult for camping. Cabins may be available for $160 but we already have one booked out at some members request.
UHF; Channel 13
Trip Standard; Green
Trip Leader; Cos

Other notes; The retreat has said they are happy for us to go down for a recce before the weekend of the party as long as we organise it with them first. They have also offered us a free night in a cabin on Friday 23rd November if anyone wants to go down on the Friday.
Please confirm if you are able to attend or not and if you are happy to camp.

Hi Cos,
Our tribe will be there. We could even come down on the Friday afternoon, and stay the Friday as well.

Cheers
David.

We'll be there too.
Happy to use cabin or camp in tent if someone else prefers a solid bed for the night.
Cheers,
Don.

Hi All, thinking of going up to Mt Barney on Friday evening. Leaving Cleveland about 3.00pm. Would put me on the camp ground about 6.00pm. Anyone interested in going about the same time?

I have changed the meeting place to the BP at Boonah. The address is 43 High St, Boonah, QLD, 4310. Departure time will be 9:30am. The High St is just off the main road through Boonah.

The retreat has a big wood fired pizza oven that we can use so our intention is to bring some pizza bases and toppings and cook up some pizzas for dinner on Saturday night. There will be some fire wood there but we will need to bring some more to keep the fire and the pizza oven going. Don has said he will bring some but if anyone else wants to bring some too feel free. Its better to have too much than not enough!

I think its probably too late to organise Secret Santa now so I'll say no but I'm happy to change my mind, if anyone is really keen for it let everyone know ASAP to give us a few days to get presents.

Hope to see you all there.

Cheers,

Cos.

I forgot to mention that dogs are welcome at the campground so if anyone wants to bring their dog along they can.
