Toonumbar, Nymboida, Dorrigo - October Long Weekend 3rd-5th

Post by RegyRocky »

Updated 29/9/2015:
At the moment the weather is looking good for the long weekend. Loads of marked tracks to explore (Whether open or not or even passable not sure) .
I am planning to do this trip regardless of numbers. I will let you know the start time when you add your interest if coming.

G'day Everyone

I am planning to go for a drive basically towards Dorrigo. I will be taking all the back tracks and exploring many other tracks along the way. Will I actually make it to Dorrigo? well I don't think so as there will be so many tracks and roads to explore.
Nothing is planned for camping as I intend to stay at the Free camping areas or a spot somewhere on the tracks, and hopefully a night on the Nymboida River.
I will be heading over the Toonumbar range, Richmond ranges, over Mt Pikapene then down to the Nymboida River Campground then may be further on to Dorrigo, all via many of the back roads and tracks most of them totally unknown to me.

As for the track conditions well these are also totally unknown and may require some serious 4 wheel driving or maybe not, some back tracking may be required, there may be locked gates and well! almost anything goes.

If you would like to join me for some exploring of this area then post your interest here.

I Will be starting at UKI NSW and could meet Brisbane people at UKI or at the end of the Lions Road (Roseberry NSW)

Departing UKI at (Early by yet to be determined)

regards,

Gary
