Janowen Hills 4WD park, like The Springs, is known for its competitions. It just so happened that this weekend there was a competition on. Having been at Scenic Rim Adventure park when a competition was on, and we didn't really notice them much, we decided to proceed. The good thing was that because of the competition we were able to pay our day trip fees at the camp-ground and didn't need to go all the way to the shop. One thing to note was that they wanted us to not only put a coloured bracelet on the car, but they also wanted us to wear one as well. I'm not 5 years old so I just stuffed mine in my pocket. Bugger that.
After doing the paperwork (and we did remember the trip sheet - eventually) we headed in the opposite direction to the competition trucks. I'm sure most of those guys were lusting over my 80, but there was not much I can do about that.

Tim was in the lead and was looking for a track he had done previously. After a few hills and challenges, we came across a creek bed. As we all know, a creek bed is a perfectly good road so we headed down it.
Prior to this Tim and I discussed his new U-Bolts on his rear axle. They did hang down a little bit. Not to worry he could always shorten them later on.
Tim, being the good chartable soul he is, was concerned about the untidiness of the creek bed so decided to do a spot of gardening.
Now, remember those U-Bolts, well lets just say that they in a battle against a rock, the rocks will eventually win.
After that we came across another interesting hill. No worries, it wasn't too steep; there was a little rocky step at the top - nothing too difficult though. Looks easy. Tim went first, but after strangling the patrol for all it's worth just could not quit make it up. Haha, looks easy for the mighty 80 - should get it in one. Well er, not quite. Lets just say that some air-powered cheats (front and rear) were required (second part of the video)...
After that, and some lunch, we just cruised around for a while, going though the gymkana track on the way.
'Twas a great day out, and I got home in time to see Maxwell single handedly flog Sri Lanka! Sweet!
See you on the next trip!
