I now have HID in the high beam lights. Bit of stuffing around to get them in. Had to modify the retaining bracket a bit to make it fit. Also had to totally remove the passenger light to fit the new bulb. Then had to take it for a drive and adjust the levels. The lift seemed to put it all out quite a bit.

It's bloody good now!

On the weekend I changed over the coolant from the generic green to the Toyota Red. Took all morning as I had to chemically flush it and rinse it, etc. There was a bit of gunk in there (especially the overflow bottle). I was able to use some sand to really clean out the overflow bottle. I'm surprised at how well it came up.

Greg and I have been working on making some rock sliders. After a couple of weekends (2 days all up) we have finished the mounting brackets.

They were pretty difficult to make up as the chassis rails are angled along the side (narrowing towards the front) and the mounts also had to point down, so there were two angles to consider. By the end of the day we were also able to get one of the bain beams welded on joining the brackes together.

After much sanding stripping and de-rusting, I have re-painted my cargo barrier and installed it.

Flash one mate!

Are you going to have a go at reconditioning your old alternator? It would be worth having a spare.

If I can find a rectifier diode pack for a good price I will. They are pretty hard to find, as it's almost cheaper to get a new alternator. It probably needs brushes as well, but they should be easier to find.
