Bellthorpe area exploration. Sunday 12th February 2023

I'm proposing to run an "exploration" morning trip up into the Bellthorpe National Park and see if we can follow the roads west from Brandon's Mill to eventually join on to Sunday Creek Road which will take us back through Conondale National Park to Charlie Moreland Campground for a picnic lunch. There are gaps in this idea if you look in Google but Hema does show a way through. We won't know for sure until we have a look. I plan to start at Kilcoy and head out on Sandy Creek Road. If worse comes to worse we'll end up somewhere else for lunch.

We will be using some roads designated as "Dry Weather Only", which can be steep/slippery/rough but I doubt we'll be tackling anything requiring recovery gear - but since we are exploring, prepare for anything just in case. (However, I suspect your camera may get more use.) I'd hope to be at Charlie Morelands by 1pm ish if plan A works out, then head home straight after we have lunch.

This assumes that Cyclone Gabrielle stays far enough off the coast to not change the weather forecast too much.

Opps - apologies all - the date on Sunday is of course the 12th.
The email was correct but my post here had Sunday as the 11th. I think everyone understood that the trip is on Sunday.
