Grafton Jacaranda Festival & Richmond Ranges 2nd to 3rd Nov

Post by RegyRocky »

Grafton Jacaranda Festival & Richmond Ranges 2nd to 3rd November 2017
Date: November 2nd and 3rd (Thursday and Friday)
Time: 7:30 Sharp NSW Time! (Note Daylight Savings Time from 1st Oct 7:30am NSW = 6:30am QLD)
Meeting: UKI Pub (Mt Warning hotel)
Grade: Easy (Sealed and Dirt roads Possible engaging 4x4)

This is a week day trip and it is quite a bit of driving.
7:30am Thursday morning we will head straight to Grafton via Kyogle, Casino and Summerland Way (about 2.5 hours driving). We will spend the majority of the day at the festival. (I will be assessing the festival for the possibility of having a market stall for the 2018 festival).
When we are done at the market or 3pm at the latest we will head out to the campsites (<1 hour drive). These are free camping sites (I believe) and if you have a toilet then bring it as there are no facilities. There is a gorgeous large river to swim in.
The following morning around 9:00am we will head back towards Tabulam where refuelling may be possible and then we will have the choice to return via Paddy’s Flat Road or via Richmond Range Road into Toonunmbar Dam. (about 6 hours driving)
We will part ways at the Lions Road Junction (or Woodenbong) I will head back via Kyogle and others can continue to Brisbane.

What to bring:
Camping Gear
Portable toilet if you have one (I will be bringing mine so I am happy to share)
Swimmers
Lilo, surfboard or kayak etc if you wish.
All you food etc as there are no shops near the camp.
Full tank of fuel from Grafton.
Note: You are welcome to stay at my place (Depending numbers) or there is free overnight camping just down the road on Wednesday night.

I wish I could come - but unfortunately I'll be babysitting my Granddaughter both days.
Cheers,

Unfortunately I'll be focusing on helping my daughter with final year 12 exams.
