Hi All,

The Gordon Country weekend trip is rapidly approaching.

Where: Gordon Country Camp Grounds (http://www.gordoncountry.com.au) Ph - (07) 4666 6179
Cost: $30 4WD fee, plus $15 per adult per night and $8 per child per night. Children up to 4 years are FREE.
When: Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th of April
Meeting Place: Aratula Shell at 9:00am (last one there has to write up the trip report)

Gordan Country is about 70 minutes drive from Aratula.
Bookings must be paid in full Online using their Online Reservation system and secure Payment Gateway. Guests will be automatically emailed a reservation and payment receipt.

There is a mandatory vehicle fee per booking which must also be paid at time of booking. There is a $30 Mandatory fee is you wish to do some 4WD trail driving. $15 per adult per night and $8 per child per night. Children up to 4 years are FREE.

Firewood can be collected on the property, so I'll bring along my chainsaw.

Please let us know if you wish to come along. It should be a great camping weekend with a good sized fire, and some nice country side. Have a look at the website for photos of the campground. Very nice. I remember the creek was fantastic and very clear. There are supposed to be new 4WD tracks in the area as well.

From their web site.
NEW FOUR WHEEL DRIVE TRACKS!

To all our valued guests we are very proud and pleased to advise of our new four wheel driving tracks!
In addition to our well established favourite wheel drive tracks, being Gatton Crossing and The Banshee, we are proud to introduce the Goomburra Play Pen and the Goomburra Rocky Mountain Climb.

The Goomburra Play Pen and some other (as yet unnamed) sites are designed for those with adventure and mischief in mind. These are short but very challenging tracks up and down the sides of the mountains. At Gordon Country, we say good luck to all the Nissans braving these tracks! Go Toyota!

The Goomburra Rocky Mountain Climb is a loop on the Maryvale side of the property which will take approximately an hour and a half to traverse. This track will take you across some extreme steep sections and we recommend it for the more experienced drivers only.

Hi Dave,

I'm interested in joining you for this trip if that's okay? As I'm new to 4x4 driving is there anything you think I have to have for the trip, e.g. UHF radio, air compressor, snatch straps etc? Also in regards to camping I'm assuming everyone takes their own cooking equipment and food along?

Regards,

Cosmas.

Hi Cosmas,

You're certainly welcome to come along. A UHF radio would be needed, but I have a spare hand-held unit you could use if you don't have one. Same thing with the air-compressor, and other recovery gear. So nothing really special is needed.

For camping, people generally take their own equipment. e.g. cooking equipment, food, etc. But yell out if you don't have a particular item, as others in the club will likely have spares. For example, I think I now have 5 portable gas cookers.

Cheers

Hi Dave,

I have booked online so I'll see you at Aratula on the 16th. If I could borrow your spare UHF radio it would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Cosmas.
