Imbil State Forest - Sat 21st Feb (Postponed)

Post by Dave »

Sorry all,

Before we get too excited, I thought we better cancel this trip due to the forecast weather. It's going to be very muddy (might be fun for people with mud tires), but we would also tear up the track in places. Imbul State forest has some fairly steep tracks. Then it's likely to rain too.
We can watch the weather, and may be able to plan a last minute trip for the following weekend.

We are planning a day to Imbil State Forest this Saturday. The plan is again start north of Kenilworth and work our way back toward Charlie Moreland Camp Ground. The trip should be relatively easy, but has a few "exciting" climbs here and there. But there are many side tracks to explore, so will try to map as much as possible.

Trip Leader: Dave
Where: Imbil State Forest
When: Saturday 21st of Feb
Costs: Free!
Standard: Green/blue (black on some side tracks )
Meeting location: BP Service Centre Morayfield (last one there has to write up the trip report)
Meeting time: 8:30am for a 8:50am departure.
UHF: Channel 13.

Bring some lunch along and some chairs as we will likely stop near some creek or a ridge with a view.

Unfortunately we will be unable to attend this weekend, as our son and family are up from Sydney for his birthday.

Regards,

Shane & Cheryl.

It's all about tire pressure * ....... With the right pressure, I'm sure a Patrol could cross that. ;)

* I think 850 PSI should blow the tires up like balloons. So you should be able to float across. I remember that video that either Ben or you posted with that vehicle floating across the creek, and eventually flipping itself upside down. This is the one where the guy pulled out the dog from the vehicle at the last second.

Yes - I think it was good we didn't go this weekend.
