We had :
- Dave, Melinda and 4 kids,
- Matthew, Amanda and 4 kids (new guests)
- Ben (Frontera Ben) - Day trip
- Mark, Arie and Mum. Day trip.
Since only 2 groups were camping, we switched the campground to the Teewah beach camping zone.
While waiting to cross the ferry at Noosa, the clouds had a slight leak, but didn't last too long. Soon after we crossed the river, aired-down, and drove up the beach. It was relatively smooth and firm sand.
By the time we reached the camping zone on Teewah beech, Dave noticed the water temp slowly climb, and then quickly climb. Having a look under the bonnet, it was obvious there wasn't much water in the radiator, i.e. a water leak. And the car had a general service 16 hours before, so they clearly did something wrong.
We stopped at the Red Canyon, and had a good climb around the coloured sands.
Anyway, we finally found a nice camp site, and Dave and Matthew and families set up our tents. After a quick bit to eat, we continued to onto Double Island Point, and then crossed onto Rainbow beach. There Mark and Ben found a great area of the lagoon to have a swim. The tidal lagoon was draining into the ocean, and there was a fast but shallow current. This was better than a water park for the kids.
The kids took a great interest in the wildlife too.
Soon it was time for Ben and Mark to start their return. So we travelled via Rainbow beach back onto the blacktop.
Dave and Matthew then travelled down Freshwater Rd to the beach, and then back to the campsite. Ben and Mark continued home via a side track or two.
The kids had a great time playing with each other on the beach. The weather was good, and although we were right on the beach, the sand hills behind us and the trees blocked virtually all wind. This was the view from inside my tent.
We had more sun shine the next morning, and the kids were ready for a morning swim. We eventually packed up, and headed up to the lighthouse on Double Island Point. The walk up wasn't too hard, and we even saw a pod of dolphins below us.

After another swim at the lagoon, we started our return journey home.
My family certainly enjoyed the trip. This one was almost as good as Fraser Island ..... so that was a very good rating. I've only been asked a dozen times about when can we return.
