Greetings all,
It has been raining here all morning and the weather radar shows Gatton is coping it too.
I'll postpone the trip. It is a lovely trip in the dry but not so much in the wet.
I'll arrange a new date via email in the next few days.
Cheers,
Don

It has been some time since we did a trip through Lockyer National Park then up the range to Gus Beutel Lookout at Ravensbourne.
Where: Lockyer National Park.
Cost: Nil.
When: Sunday 26th May 2024
Meeting Place: Forest Hill - cafe 4342 for a 9am start.
UHF: Channel 13
Trip Leader: Don - 0407030693
Some of the dry weather roads or tracks can be somewhat bumpy and may require low range but I very much doubt we will need to use any recovery gear.
The basic outline is meeting at Forest Hill for a 9am start. There are 2 very good cafes for coffee if you are early and they are side by side - lets pick Cafe 4342. If you can find Forest Hill you won't have any trouble finding the cafes.
We can then head through towards Gatton and then north to the National Park. I think I should be able to find the Eastern entrance again.
We'll then head up the range via the dirt road to the Gus Beutel Lookout for a picnic lunch. There are toilets at the lookout.
After Lunch we can work our way down via backroads to Murphys Creek.
From there we can make our way back toward the Warrego Highway, Gatton and home.
Depending upon the time, if anyone wants to see the historic Spring Bluff Railway Station, it is only 10km on the bitumen towards Toowoomba. It is a lovely spot and well worth a look - but the cafe did not reopen after Covid.
