Glendon Campgrounds - 31st Aug to 1st Sept
Posted: September 4th, 2019, 1:03 am
On the last day of winter, Cos, Don and Tracey, Ben, Tim and David met at Aratula and then headed out to Glendon Campgrounds. There was a bit of a delay as there was a car crash on the highway around 8 km from Glendon, probably only minutes before we arrived. Eventually we turned around and took a bypass road to arrive at Glendon.
After setting up our tents, we explored the explored the park. The tracks were fairly simple, though we did have a play on various washouts and hills.
Don having some fun.

Cos coming down a steep hill.

Cos testing out some motorbike tracks.

Searching for the gold mines, we stop at the top of a hill for a group photo.

We eventually found the gold mines.

Eventually it was time to head back to camp and get ready to set up tripods and get dinner ready.

Sunset give us some more photo opportunities.

As darkness arrived, Ben kindly showed us some interesting Nebula, stars and galaxies.

It was a fairly cool night, with temperatures dropping to around 2 degrees. The next morning the group headed home after breakfast. The scenery was nice, and hopefully Ben, Cos and David got some good photos.
I'll also soon send people a link to a time-lapse video of the milky way setting behind some trees.
Hope everyone enjoyed themselves on this quick weekend camping trip.
Cheers
David.
