Many thanks to all who attended. We had Cuboid, Grindpack, Capella_Ben, Dave, and a guest "Kris" (who had a fantastic vehicle).
Though it was raining the day before, we only had some overcast skies, with a bit of sun coming through the middle of the day.

The trip went to plan, i.e. up through the Northern Access Track, stopped at the Fort-Day-Use area for lunch, and then drove down the beach to "1st Lagoon" to allow the kids and some brave adults to go for a swim.
Before is a photo of the group in front of a WW2 fort/cannon-bunker.

At the lagoon, some of the "girls" had seemed to be enjoying a good chat, while others were splashing in the water or playing a bit of cricket. It wasn't the warmest weather for swimming, so it only means we will have to return again during warmer weather.

On a whole, it was a nice relaxing trip with some great company.

Cheers
Dave.

Thank you for that wonderful start to the trip report David and helping me with all the names for our fellow trippers and our route.
The day was filled with wind driven sand, overcast but bright sky’s and great company. We even saw some wildlife (I would have had more picture if Ben would only go just a little slower or stop occasionally)

We also went north up the beach to check out the ruins of the Bribie Island Batteries

When we arrived at the lagoon we decided after some changes of mind to set up in a possie on the southern side of the lagoon entrance under the Caldwell’s shady shelter (thanks for bringing it Mark and Arie it was a great idea, oh and thanks too for rescuing the Jackson’s at dinner time with your stove to grill our steaks).
Image
The boys in the party with the kids were off to the beach for swimming, cricket and Frisbee before retiring to the lagoon. Hunter was very useful apparently to retrieve the cricket ball from the lagoon when the ‘big’ boys wacked it into the water. Mark managed to send one flying over the top of someone else’s car.
While all this sweat and adrenalin was on the go the girls were seated comfortably under the shady shelter sipping on wine and cider and partaking of chips and cheese and biscuits, ahhhh the life its hard but someone needs to do it.

Then it was time to cook our dinners from various different styles of portable kitchen set ups. And what do you know I didn’t get a picture of mine as I was too busy cooking.
We finished off with home cooked chocolate brownies and New York Baked Cheesecake, Yummy.

After dinner was over it was time for the November club meeting in one of the best club house we have ever held it in. Looking forward to seeing the meeting minutes Don.

Then it was off home in the dark with Axel asleep by the time we hit the bridge back to the mainland.
Thanks you all for coming it was a great day and lovely low key Christmas Party.

Hi Jane,
Thanks for the great write, and the photos. I was getting ready to post several photos and even some video, but unfortunately the new dash cam stopped recording just after we left the BP servo. So I had no footage of anything on the sand.
