That afternoon we drove a couple of hundred metres to the end of the point to watch the MantraRay vehicle ferry cross to Fraser Island.

Naturally, the camp fire in the evenings was popular with everyone.

The next day we drove along Rainbow beach and crossed over to the eastern (Teewah) beach side. I'd posted several photos of the coloured sands from a previous trip, so here is one without much colour. It's part of the base of the Carlo Sandblow.

We stopped at Double Island Point to walk up to the light house. The weather was starting to turn, and with the light house covered in plastic for repainting, we quickly returned down the track to head back to the cars. Some people also saw some whales were the patch of light was, but we couldn't see anything.

Afterwards we travelled along the beach to head up Freshwater Rd and back to Inskip Point. But as you can see, the clouds were rolling in too.

That afternoon, Dave and the family drove to the top of Carlo Sandblow,

And after a short walk ..... the kids were also eaten. Well, that's what my kids were saying.

Sunday night resulted in more rain, and it lasted most of the morning. So Dave and family got some practise packing up their new tent in the rain. And on a sandy base, the traps doubled their weight with wet sand sticking to them. We decided to return to Brisbane via Teewah beach. It was still raining on and off, but the tide was reasonably low, so sounded like a good idea. There was a fair bit of traffic initially, but almost all vehicles exited via Freshwater Rd.

We didn't stop a Red Canyon since it was raining again, so it wasn't long before we exited at the Noosa North-shore ext. But soon after the resort, there appeared to be some cars blocking the road. Unfortunately we then realised it's the queue of cars waiting to cross the vehicle ferry.

Nearly two hours later, we crossed the river by ferry and returned home via the traffic on the Bruce highway. So it was more than a 5 hour trip home for Dave and family.
Though the weather was not the best, everyone was still happy to go camping near the beach.
