Where does everybody want to explore next year?
Beach trips, 4x4 parks, National Parks, Local hot spots.

Start thinking of ideas and post them on here.

Maybe even a camping trip for new years up on teewah beach.

Hi all,

I was thinking of organising a beach trip to either :
1) Teewah beach (just past Noosa ... but you're locked in at high tide)
2) Freshwater Campground (just north of Twewah beach, but can access the main road via an 18km sandy track). The campground is 200m inland off the beach.
3) Inskip point (access via sealed road, choice of 5 campgrounds. 4x4 needed for 3 of the campgrounds. Sheltered swimming available) This is my personal favourite campgrounds on the mainland.

All the above are between Noosa and Fraser Is. There is lots to see and do. I've camped in the area at least 3 times, and always found some new. Recommend seeing Red Canyon, Carlo Sandblow (this is fantastic), swimming at the northern tip of Inskip point, and feeding the Dolphins at TinCan Bay.

Would people who are interested by available on the say Saturday 21st, Sunday 22nd, and Monday 23rd? Or would people prefer the 27th, 28th, and 29th?

We could always try Stradie again (including the $130 ferry fee), or Bribie. But these could be a day trip.
In the new year (1st , 2nd or 3rd of Jan), I'm thinking about a trip to Fraser. Just too many things to see there to list in one post.

Hi Dave,
I was thinking of camping 31st & 1st.
If no body has plans for new years eve, this would be a great way to spend it. You still get to see fireworks on the beach. I ;-)

What about Gordon Country for Aust Day Long weekend?
I can give you a tour of where the decent tracks are as the last GC trip report looked like you had a miserable time
Pros are dog friendly, enough space to get away from crowds for long weekend and all the firewood you dare to cut
Cheers Tom

We need another trip to Glasshouse. We found a couple of great tracks there that I had not been on before.

Dalmatian, if you setup a time (that I can make) I'm happy to lead everyone around.

Hi All,

I'm looking to put together a trip calendar over the next week for trips during 2014. Please post your ideas, preferred dates, etc over the next week, and I'll create a calendar within the first week of January.

My two cents worth.
- at least a couple of day trips to the Glasshouse mountains (during dry weather).
- a trip or two to Bribie Island (we are up there frequently to enjoy the warm waters of "lagoon #2", which is a 10 minute drive up the beach.
- a camping trip to Sundown National Park (there is a side track that probably takes a whole day to explore).
- a camping trip to Inskip point. Good for the cooler months too, with easy access for 2wd vehicles. Camp fires are permitted, with toilets in a area. Dolphins feeding can be done from Tin-can bay, and Red Canyon at Teewah Beach and the Carlo Sand Blow at rainbow beach is always great to visit.

And if others are interested, I'm also considering a 2 week trip up to Cape York during the Sept school holiday period. A Simpson desert trip could also be considered.
