City View 4x4 Park - 14th of July

After a 9am exit from Beaudesert, 6 vehicles (of which 50% were Prados) left for CityView 4x4 Park. The lucky people to come along were :
- Ben & Mariana,
- Gilbert and Coby
- Jonathan & Viki & son
- Louis and son
- Tim, Ken (a friend of Tim), and daughter
- Dave, Adrian (friend of David), and 3 sons.
Though it was raining a little in Brisbane, City View seems reasonably dry. The park owner commented "wow - more Prados". There were many other in the park that day.
This time we started off by exploring the tracks to the left of the main office, and staying to the "easy to medium" difficulty tracks.
We were on our way back when there was a short accent. Unfortunately just as a Prado started the accent, there was a "crunch" sound. There wasn't any strain on the drive-train at that stage, so it was probably just bad luck. My guess, a few teeth are now missing on the rear diff.
To play it stay, we thought it better to tow out the Prado. First, task was to winch it up the slope.
At this point, Dave discovered his winch winds out, but not in. Grrrrr .... dead solenoid probably. But we had a Ford Ranger with a winch, so were able to pull up the vehicle. The ground was a little slippery, so we used a second car as an anchor.
As we approached the office, we stopped at the dry-creek in a campground area for lunch. At this point, a couple of adventurous people gave a short but steep accent a go. Have a look at the end of the video below. After lunch, 3 vehicles remained to have further play on some of the tracks. By the time we aired-up, it was almost 4:30pm before we started to head home.
It was an interesting day for recovers and towing. I'll keep my fingers crossed the repair is not too expensive.

we had an amazing day out. The weather was great. Some new techniques were covered too - three cars tied up together
