Hi All,

I'm planning a trip to Charlie Morelands. There were a number of tracks we didn't get a chance to explorer during our Christmas function.

Trip Leader: Dave
Where: Charlie Moreland
When: 8:30am, Sunday 30th of Dec
Costs: Nil
Standard: Green / Blue (and if we get bogged, we will call it a Black).
Meeting location: BP Service Centre Morayfield (Nth Bound) at 8:30am for a 8:45am departure
UHF : Ch 13

Charlie Moreland is just under 2 hours away from Brisbane, but fortunately has no entry costs.

Cheers
Dave.

Sounds good, but we won't make this. Dropping family off at the airport that day.

Hi Dave
Mariana and I might come along on this one. Would like to see how the Fronty goes in mud before making a final decision on wether we upgrade to Toyota.
I only have AT's so if its pouring rain in the days leading up we will give it a miss.
Is there a permit required. Your original post says Costs = Vehicle access permit, but later says that entry is free :?

Cheers Ben J

Hi Ben J,

AT's should be fine. I'm not expecting anything too difficult, so ground clearance probably will not be an issue either (most of the time). Even if it's raining, we didn't find any real mud holes. Only some of the tracks got a little slippery.

Sorry about the confusion over the cost. It was a cut&paste error from a previous trip. So confirming .... there is no cost, i.e. no vehicle permit required.

Definitely would be great to see you there.

BTW - took an aunty to see Bribie Island today (just a 1 hour visit to the island). I had the tires down to 18 PSI, and couldn't come close to bogging the car. The rain a few days ago made a big difference. Leaving the beach was interesting. Lower clearance cars would get bogged in the softer sand, but we just crawled through with ease at low speed. The high winds kept the lot of people off the beach, though the lagoons were sooooo nice. :)

Thanks
David.
