Home Made Tablet Mount

Home Made Tablet Mount

Postby Capella_Ben » August 24th, 2012, 6:58 pm

The kids DVD player has not been behaving itself lately. So I got a Acer Iconia for them.

I have been making a mount for the car for it. It is an all alloy frame with nylon bearings and slides made out of an old cutting board. A little bit of welding here and there ans a lot of cutting and filing and it is almost ready.

Very cool Ben.

Did you make up the design yourself? Where are you going to mount it?

The design for how the tablet attaches to the mount is copied from a RAM mount. It is very good and I can swing it all around and the tablet stays perfectly mounted.

The initial plan is to mount it on the back of the centre console. Not 100% sure that will be strong enough (but it should be).

You will have to mount one up front as well to use as your GPS running Oziexplorer. With that nice big screen you shouldn't get us all lost when you are trip leading :P
