Toyota's new GD engine

Jane wants to move from the Ford Focus to a Prado, so I have been doing some research. The Prado (and soon to be in the Hilux) now has a new engine: 1GD-FTV.

It is a 2.8L engine and even though it has better power and torque figures as well as economy, I was a bit iffy about it because it is smaller. However reading this article has changed my mind.

It's a Prado ..... must be good.

And, in the fine print, I'm sure there is "mandatory requirement to take a Prado for a beach drive at least once per month". They are so many Prados on the beach, and I don't think I've ever seen a rusty Prado on the streets.

But interesting video. Wished I had the diesel version now.
