who has what shocker

who has what shocker

Postby Puma » January 21st, 2015, 7:56 pm

Well just done a check with 4by on hoist, and discovered that when the diff rolled it dented both shockers, these have lasted 13+ years, and would of done many more if the diff hadn't had rolled.
So now looking at new shockers, who recommends makes or ones to stay away from. I will be using foam filled. The last ones were from 4wd systems, no name brand from Mexico.
Any help appreciated
cheers Dave

I can recommend to avoid the TJM versions. After 2 years, the bushes worn out on the lower connecting joint (sorry for the non-technical terms). But with the TJM versions, you can't replace these bushes like with most other brands, so new shocks were needed. And they were just under 24 months old.

I have ARB OME sport shocks. They did fine on the cape and can handle the mighty power of the 1HD-T! I haven't really used any other though.

OME have a new shock out atm. its got a remote reseviour, good for constant thrashing.
i would avoid tjm AT ALL COSTS!

if you have the money, try out fox or kings.

im running ome and toughdog. i liked the comfit that ome gave. but i like the HEAVY DUTYNESS that toughdog ralph shock give.

you are driving thru the dessert in 8 weeks, i suggest you dont buy any cheap stuff that wont last.
