Bribie Island Afternoon beach run and BBQ March 12th

Postby GridPack » February 27th, 2016, 1:54 pm

Greetings, before Summer is over we'd like to fit in another trip to Bribie Island for a BBQ and splash around on the beach.
I'm planning to do an afternoon run up through the centre of the island and down the beach to the lagoon where we had our Christmas BBQ. Depending upon the weather of course.

Where: Bribie Island
Cost: Requires a beach permit. Log into http://www.nprsr.qld.gov.auto book your beach permit online. A one month and one year permit is available.
When: Saturday 12th March 2.00pm for a 2.30pm start.
Meeting Place: Meet at the carpark just behind the BP Servo (BP, Cnr Goodwin Dve & Hornsby Rd Hornsby Road, Bribie Island QLD 4507)
UHF: Channel 13
Trip Standard: Green
Trip Leader: Don

What to bring : Something to wear in or near the water, something for dinner (i.e. to have dinner on the beach, so please bring your own food and drinks). A chair.

Hi Don,

Thanks for posting the trip. We are a definite maybe for that weekend. Sorry, we can only confirm on the Thursday the 10th if we are available on the 12th or 13th, both or neither.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for good weather. I think this weekend saw most beaches lose half their sand. But it will likely get washed back over the next two weeks.

Mr and Mrs dipmaker should actually be able to make this trip, our first since the 2014 Christmas party. We are looking forward to it so long as nothing in the meantime (such as another six grandkids arriving) or some other bizarre event occurs we will be there.

Hi all,
I've firmed up the day for the Saturday to give everyone a chance to wash their cars down Sunday morning.
I spoke to the people running the caravan park and they say the beaches are fine - no significant damage from the wild seas last week.
Cheers,
Don

Sounds good. We may have visitors coming along as well so do you want us to bring cooking facilities?

That's great Dave! Yep - all depends on the weather but would be nice to get down on the beach!

Steve, Whatever you like - I'll have a dual burner cooker and happy to share. I don't think we'll be in a screaming rush to get everyone fed at same time. An extra fry pan may be useful though.
The more the merrier re visitors.
Cheers,
Don
