Bribie Island - 1st of Feb 2025

Though somewhat cloudy, we still had relatively warm weather. A total of 7 vehicles met up on Bribie Island at 3:30pm. We soon headed down to the beach access point, aired down, and hit the beach. We had a couple of vehicles turned into learner-driver vehicles, so there were some very excited people...

Re: Lightning Ridge Trip August 2024

Thanks Don for organising the trip. Nindygully, Lightning Ridge, the Warrumbungle National Park and visit to the Anglo-Australian Telescope at Siding Springs were certainly some highlights. Some of the back-roads were also an adventure. Below is a sunset we captured at Lightning Ridge. https://i.img...

Glendon Campgrounds - 8th to 9th of June

Hi All, I’m planning a camping trip on Saturday the 8th of June at Glendon camp ground (https://glendoncamping.com.au/), which is a large private property with reasonably mild 4x4 tracks, a large lake, gold panning and even cabins for overnight stays. One of the key goals is to do some sunset and ni...

Re: 3 Corners and Simpson Desert via Coober Pedy

Thanks Don for the fantastic trip report. I'm yet to find time to download the photos off the various cameras/phones we had. But in the mean time, here is a photo of the scorpion that was easily found under UV light. https://i.imgur.com/QnsekFX.jpg I also had that group photo prepared earlier. https...

Weekend trip to Sundown National Park - 18th and 19th of Mar

Hi all, We're planning a weekend trip to Sundown NP. The aim is to meet up around midday in Stanthorpe, possible visit a winery or two, and then head off Sundown National Park to set up camp. It's a moonless night, so possibly an opportunity for some astrophotography or even just sitting around a ca...

Re: Bellthorpe area exploration. Sunday 12th February 2023

Great trip report Ben. It was a great day out. We survived the warmth, but thankfully the humidity seemed relatively low. We saw 39 degrees on the road out from Charlie Morelands. In the next day or two, I'll post a photo of our attempt to clean the car. It worked reasonably well. Cheers David.
